Born in Japan, Saori began her artistic career at a young age when she discovered a love for the piano and for classical music. After college she moved to the US to marry her boyfriend and after unsuccessfully searching for a gift for a good friend, she decided to make a small silver and garnet necklace. The piece drew such praise, both from her friend and from her friend’s friends, that Saori decided to start a business.
Saori’s one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces are done in sterling silver or gold, semiprecious stones, and cultured freshwater pearls, and includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and even baby spoons. Her pieces employ metalsmithing techniques such as forging and hammering, as well as fabrication techniques. Each component is handcrafted–down to the ear wires, which are specially made to match each pair of earrings perfectly and to be as comfortable as possible.
Her custom creations are popular with brides and the designs have been featured in Bridal Guide magazine.
