For the first year, technology is playing a  huge part in fashion week, breaking down elite barriers, and bringing the clothes to everyone. Alexander Wang will dare to be different, and instead of live streaming his show online, it will be broadcast on a massive billboard in Times Square at 6pm this Saturday on 46th and Broadway. [WWD]

Marc Jacobs has joined forces with Maripol, the stylist who dressed Malexander Wang is daring to be different, and using technology to get there.donna in her ’80s “Like A Virgin Days” to create an inexpensive line called Marc Jacobs + Maripol, filled with T-shirts, chain necklaces and rubber bracelets ranging from $4 to $35–the best part is it’s available at his stores now. Speaking of the ’80s, we’re got the best leggings for you–check them out. [WWD]

Marni will collaborate with Current Elliot on a collection of jeans. Expect a grungy kind of slouchy jean, like a ’90s boyfriend jean, in unexpected shades, from azure to indigo. Available in June, they’ll start at $250. We’re firm believers that you can never have enough denim: browse our guides to skinny jeans now. [WWD]

Legendary ’70s singer Patti Smith, who has a book to promote, was all over Fashion Week yesterday–from the front row at L.A.M.B. to performing her best-known song, “Gloria” at Chado Ralph Rucci. Take a cue from the rock star and get yourself a leather jacket you can wear now, through the spring and fall. [Elle UK]
