In the wake of the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina, many retailers have stepped up to the proverbial plate and are donating a portion of their sales toward relief efforts. One such retailer is Jelessy, a relatively new line known for its vibrant color palette, whose handcrafted jeans have graced the derrieres of such A-listers as Madonna, Halle Berry and Paris Hilton. On September 7, Bella Lucce is hosting a store-wide sale on its luxurious collection of skincare and donating 50 percent of every sale to the Red Cross. The brand of body scrubs, facial treatments and pedicure products are infused with fruit powders and seeds, chocolate and other natural ingredients. Crafter’s portals Craft Revolution and Etsy have also joined forces to help raise money. Makers of all sorts of wares, from accessories to paper goods to glass works, are encouraged to donate items for sale, of which 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Katrina disaster relief. Find the jeans, the skincare products and the crafts at jelessycollection.com, bellalucce.com and etsy.com, respectively.
