Bjork’s swan dress, with its white feather ruffles and a swan beak that rested tenderly above her breast, earned the Iceland singer major attention at the 2001 Oscars. The eccentric pop star’s famous/infamous dress is now being auctioned off on eBay, along with more than 150 other celebrity fashion items, in support of the international aid agency Oxfam. According to the London Free press, other auction items include a screenprint shirt donated by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Yoko Ono’s sunglasses and a pair of designer Stella McCartnery’s thigh-high fake leather boots. Each piece being auctioned off has a story behind it, Oxfam reports, and auction winners will receive both the article of clothing and the story.
Bidding will run from September 18-25, coinciding with London Fashion Week. For more information, check out Oxfam’s Oxfam’s Bring and Buy project.
