If you haven’t yet discovered the beauty phenomenon that is dry shampoo, it’s time to get with the program.

This stuff is magic. While it doesn’t actually clean your hair, it sure makes it look a lot cleaner between washes, and it adds an extra boost of volume and texture to freshly-washed locks. Ever since I discovered these magical properties my freshman year in college (through a Sephora sample of Oscar Blandi Pronto), some form of dry shampoo has been a staple in my beauty bag since.  And until I’m fabulously wealthy and enjoying daily blowouts, I’ll keep coating my head in the stuff to trick everyone into thinking I’ve got a standing reservation at Drybar (or at least washed my hair last night).

SEE OUR ROAD-TESTED DRY SHAMPOOS IN THE SLIDESHOW ABOVE

(Full disclosure: I have blonde hair. Covering black, brown, or red hair in white powder might have less desirable results).

Check out some of the best varieties in the slideshow above, and don’t forget to shop our guides to the best bath productsmoisturizers and self-tanners.
