Usually after July 4th, everyone thinks summer is over, but not TOMS. The socially conscious brand is teaming up with Lonely Planet to celebrate the travel guidebook publisher’s 40th anniversary. In honor of this milestone, TOMS is creating a limited-edition version of their Classic flat inspired by the global travel that shapes both brands. And what says summer more than travel and TOMS Classic flats? Nothing. But, there’s a twist. You can’t buy these shoes, you have to win them in one of three ways:
1) Submit your email to TOMS to be entered in a drawing.
2) Share your travel stories with Lonely Planet in 140 words or less (so like, a tweet).
3) Post photos of your own travels on Instagram or Twitter using hashtags #LP and #Traveling TOMS.
In addition to the Passport Classics, Lonely Planet is also releasing a mini-guidebook filled with their best travel tips and ideas for how travelers can make a positive impact across the planet. This includes sustainable adventures, how to “green” your vacation and ways to give back on your next trip. Of course, the guide features excerpts from TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie who is the pro of responsible travel. Sounds like these two brands have a lot in common with their core values of social responsibility!
