What do Herve Leger, Custo Barcelona, and Alexander Wang all have in common this NYW fall 2013 season? They all sent their models down the runway in fur hoods – sometimes (in Leger’s case) monstrous ones. Now, when we saw the show on Saturday, post-Nemo, the hoods looked downright appealing. However, in retrospect, we don’t really know what sort of use a furry hooded coat or cardigan will get us next fall. Besides the rare snow dumping, the winter months aren’t really at arctic-level temperatures these days – thanks global warming! Plus, designers already tried to make the snood happen and it failed. Sorry guys, but we just don’t see the point unless you’re planning on becoming an Eskimo sometime soon. Yea, we didn’t think so.
