Olivia Munn may play socially awkward and high strung Sloan on HBO’s The Newsroom, but in real life, the actress has proven that she knows how to dress for a red carpet (and work those cameras). Her dress choices are always solid – she killed it in a $29 ASOS dress this spring – and surprisingly feminine for a self-proclaimed “nerd,” and someone who got her break telling dirty jokes on the Daily Show. For a recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, she wowed fans and photographers in a Raquel Allegra Pleated Cotton-Jersey and Voile Dress ($305). The midnight-blue dress is perfectly in line with fall’s jewel tone trend and much loved drop waist trend. Plus, the pleated skirt and racer back top give it an urban edge. Wear with high heels and a belt, a la Olivia, for to define your waist, or keep it casual with ballet flats and a leather jacket. We’re pretty sure this dress is worth the $300 price tag, because you’re bound to wear it all fall (no matter what’s on your social calendar).
