There’s nothing like taking all of your makeup off after a long day. It’s also one of the most important steps to keep your skin healthy. And believe it or not, there are more steps required than just using a makeup removing wipe. Here’s the right way to do it:
Step 1: Use a makeup removing wipe to get the majority of makeup and dirt off your skin. Avoid the eye area since you don’t want to drag that product onto your skin.
Step 2: Use an eye makeup remover oil and a cotton pad to remove any product on your eyes. Using an oil designed specifically for the eye does not irritate the delicate skin surrounding it.
Step 3: Since there may be residue left over, cleanse your face to make sure there is no product left on the surface. My favorite face cleanser is from Mario Badescu. It really does a great job when it comes to wiping away oil and makeup.
Step 4: Lastly, it’s time to exfoliate. By now, you’ve removed all of the makeup that was on the surface of your skin, but to be safe you want to make sure there is none clogged in your pores. Gently scrub your skin with an exfoliant, wash it off with lukewarm water then pat dry with a towel.
This may seem like a lot of steps just to take off your makeup, but your skin will be healthier and clearer for it in the long run.
