Online Toy Rental Subscriptions: Why Buy When You Can Rent?
August 12, 2011
If your kid is anything like most kids, he or she gets bored after playing with a toy a few times, even if it’s a new one he begged you for weeks to buy. One solution? Toygaroo, an online toy rental company that delivers toys right to your doorstep.
Think of it as a Netflix for toys. You start out by choosing your plan, which ranges from a shipment of four to eight toys per month or every other month. Then you browse through the site and add toys (choose from over 500 for newborns up to kindergartners) to your wish list. After that you simply wait for them to ship (for free, of course), and when your kid is done having his fun, you send the toys back and wait for your next shipment to arrive.
The toys are scrubbed down, there’s no late fees, and it seems like a good way to road test toys that you’re on the fence about buying. Know what else it’s good for? It might be something fun for grandparents or anyone your kid regularly visits to try. That way, they’ll always have a new toy for your kid to play with and never have to worry about where they’re going to store it.
Want to try it? Try a 14-day trial run for free. And then tell us what you think.
