A little background: 25 years before young designers like Proenza Schouler and Erin Fetherston were plucked from art school to the runways, there was Temple St. Clair, a student in Florence, who became a full-fledged jewelry designer when her work was chosen to sell in Barneys by a European buyer.
Ever since, name has since been synonymous with ornate jewelry inspired by Renaissance Italy that retails for over $1000–but soon her designs will be showing up in everyone’s jewelry box for under $50.
