Ooh La La: Vanity Fair's International Best-Dressed List Gets It Right
August 5, 2009
Vanity Fair has released photos of the various members of the ranks making up their newest best-dressed list. The population ranges from our favorite (Michelle Obama, who made the list along with her husband) to the archetypical Parisian grand dame, Catherine Deneuve, to various actresses. (Our top pick among VF’s top picks is definitely Penelope Cruz.)
Vanity Fair notes the sartorial favorites’ preferred designers and clothing they can’t live without. For Michelle Obama, it’s cardigan sweaters:
Cop the First Lady’s style with this J. Crew merino v-neck ($88).
Okay, Catherine Deneuve’s “fashion item she cannot live without” is actually ultra-thin cigarettes. We’ll just bypass that to focus on her extremely covetable favorite shoe designer, Christian Louboutin:
These classic black patent Pigalle Pumps can, obviously, be worn with anything ($565).
Like Mme. Deneuve, Penelope Cruz is in love with Louboutins, but she also notes she’s a huge fan of vintage Ray-Bans:
