Your Guide To Fashion's Night Out 2011: The Celebs, The Cocktails, The Gimmicks

Despite our mixed feelings about Fashion’s Night Out (Read: the booze-ridden hoards of shoppers, quasi-celebrities, and fashion devotees roaming the streets in search of savings, sightings, and swag), we’ve rounded up some of the coolest, craziest, most-anticipated events—from New York City to cyberspace.

NYC:

Rebecca Minkoff is teaming up with the Man Repeller at Saks Fifth Avenue, where attendees can indulge in the free hair-braiding bar and receive a free Rebecca Minkoff gift with purchase.

Pose with supermodel Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, and Erin Heatherton at Victoria’s Secret SoHo.

A Barbie Scavenger Hunt? Yes, please. Catch a double-decker bus ride on the corner of 59th Street and 8th Avenue for a free fashion party crawl.

Have your makeup done at Fresh, then walk the Red Carpet for your very own paparazzi photo opp.

Sephora is bringing a host of beauty experts and celebs: our pick is the 5th Avenue store, where Kate Walsh, Kate Somerville and Solange Knowles will all be on hand.

Get dolled up at Frederic Fekkai‘s FNO pre-party, with special discounts on blowouts and Swarvoski Crystal Manicures.

Wild card of the century: A.J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys will perform at Kiehl’s followed karaoke and cocktails—meaning you can take the stage.

Receive free makeovers and complimentary manicures from Katy Perry’s personal manicurist at the newest Ricky’s NYC location on Broadway.

Receive a free Rent the Runway designer dress rental with purchase of the “Selby Cuff” at Alexis Bittar.

In the mood for some famous fashionista sightings? Tavi, Daphne Guiness, Alexander Wang, Simon Doonan will all be at Barney’s—and best of all, you can feel good while you shop:

Feeling artsy? Head to Phaidon SoHo to see Guy Bourdain’s fashion photography curated by Refinery 29 and style blogger Garance Doré.

Loved Lanvin‘s latest ad campaign (read: models dancing to Pitbull)? Head to their Madison Avenue store to mimic their choreography.

Clown around at Alice + Olivia stores this FNO: six of the seven nationwide stores are channeling circus tents with stilt-walkers, popcorn, fortune tellers, and cocktails.

For some FNO tunes, head to Tommy Hilfiger at Macy’s Herald Square where Joss Stone will be performing, or to the 5th avenue TH flagship to see Theophilus London.

ONLINE (a.k.a. Fashion’s Night In):

Net-A-Porter is launching an app for iPhones and iPads called “The Window Shop,” where you can shop straight from your phone or tablet. Live in London? Be one of the first 50 people to shop simultaneously online and in-store and you’ll win £50 of free merch.

Piperlime.com‘s exclusive online event starts at 6:00 p.m. — shop celebrity guest editors’ exclusive picks AND receive a special free gift.

Time to feel good: 10% of all proceeds from sales made on September 8th at Barneys.com will benefit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Shop the Vogue-designed FNO-themed scarf on QVC: it’s cute, and all net proceeds will benefit Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

Nordstrom.com is selling a whole host of FNO-themed merchandise both before and during the big event.

Shopbop.com is curating a special Fashion’s Night Out boutique, as well as live-blogging the NYC events for those of whom can’t make it out that night.
