They say you should dress for the job you want, not the job you have. Given my recent experiences, I think this sentiment also applies to working out. If you feel powerful and positive in your workout clothes, you’re more likely to If you know me, you know I D-R-E-A-D working out. I was always active throughout high school and when I didn’t have dance team and dance class to keep me active around the clock, working out became more of a chore than a release. This plague of dread followed me with my move to New York. With all the fancy boutique workout classes and ripped fitness gurus, I was intimidated, to say the least. I would even get so nervous to try new fitness classes that I would show up and turn around to head back home. You may think I’m insane but I felt like an outsider in classes where I desperately wanted to be an insider.
It may seem silly but simply putting on a workout outfit that made me feel good, helped inspire me to put my best foot forward and give me that extra boost of confidence to start enjoying activities again. I felt stronger and more empowered. Outdoor Voices inspires women to simply DO things– go out and be active and after wearing their clothes, I can say why. Their clothes rock and not only do they look good, they also make you feel comfortable. There’s something for everyone, no matter how intense your activity is. From their cult favorite leggings (Oprah even loves them!) to their newly launched workout dress, you’ll 100% be obsessed once you try it.
While I’m not used to spending over $20 on a workout bra, this one has changed my life. First off, it’s called the “Key Bra” because it actually has a space for your keys so you can head out to your workout sans purse or pockets. It’s also EXTREMELY supportive – wearing it felt like it was giving my boobs a hug and it dries so quick you wouldn’t even know you were sweating.
These leggings are thick, sweat-wicking and comfortable — basically everything you NEED in workout leggings. It also doesn’t hurt that they come in such cool colors. They feature a textured compression fabric, so they will stay in place all day while giving a flattering look that lifts and tones.
I have been LIVING in this tank for the past few weeks. It’s incredibly soft and I’m obsessed with the tie in the back. I leave it undone for a breezy look and twist tie it up to keep it in place for more intense activities.
To be honest, I was extremely skeptical about a workout dress in the beginning. I never thought I would ever feel at ease working out in a dress but this dress has changed my perspective. This is a workout staple if you’re playing tennis, going on a run or playing golf. It has a built-in leotard so you don’t feel exposed and it’s light as a feather. It also has sweat-wicking fabric so it doesn’t stick uncomfortably to your body.
