Prabal Gurung Reveals His First Accessories Collaborator At Saturday's Runway Show
September 7, 2012
It may seem like all the greatest collaborations paired up for a Fashion’s Night Out debut (hello, Azealia Banks for MAC Cosmetics!), but Prabal Gurung is on mission to prove the best has yet to come. After teaming up with fashion greats like Nicholas Kirkwood, Philip Treacy, Linda Farrow and Fenton for his fall 2012 show’s accessories, Mr. Gurung will debut his spring 2013 lineup on Saturday along with the perfectly on-brand result of between him and Cesare Casadei: a sleek acetate-and-steel wedge-heeled shoe with a mesh pointed-toe, retailing for $900. Another version of the design includes a sandal silhouette, though both are a reinterpretation of Casadei’s Blade Wedge.
According to WWD, Casadei was very open to working with Prabal for his first collaboration with an American-based designer: “I said, ‘You give me a mood, and I will create something that works for both of us.'”
After impressing with his fall 2012 finale of gold, ivory and true whites, is anyone else hoping the mood picks up where Prabal left off last season? Holy gorgeousness!
