Baby Ready for Her First Trike? Try the Smart Trike Zoo
June 16, 2011
Baby ready for her first outdoor ride on toy? Consider the Smart Trike Zoo, an adorable 3-in-1 tricycle your child can enjoy from 10-months old and up. I had the chance to try it out with my 2-year old daughter, and the only complaint I have is that I wish we had it sooner. Here’s why…
Assembly was easy and I’m not the handiest person, and when everything was built and done, the trike was seriously really cute. I have the hot pink butterfly version, which really stands out in the crowd, but it’s available in five other fun colors.
It’s lightweight enough for my daughter to pedal by herself, but since she’s not very good at steering just yet, the parent push bar comes in handy. I can steer and take over when she gets tired, and it has a setting low enough for my 6-year old, so he can help her navigate as well.
The seat is roomy, with a high back and seat belt for added safety, and if you’re using it with younger babies, it has a safety bar and shoulder straps to keep baby secure…not to mention an adorable canopy to protect her from the sun.
It has a zippered bag on the push bar that’s handy for small snacks and a diaper and wipes, and a little bucket on the back for treasures baby finds along the way. My daughter likes to keep a cold drink in the bottle holder up at front, and as you can see from the picture above, she likes to call her friends when she’s on the road–it comes with a toy cell phone that’s conveniently strapped on to the bike so baby won’t miss any calls.
It’s lightweight enough to throw in the trunk of the car to take to the park and sturdy enough for my son to ride–he likes to show his sister a few tricks here and there. We’ve had the bike for a few weeks now, and all in all it’s a fantastic little trike that’s holding up very nicely. A great little bike for tykes.
