Chloe Sevigny is never one to blend into the crowd with her outfit choices, and she usually successfully pulls off her hipster style. The other night however, Chloe looked more like a street performer than a style star. Let us at Red Carpet Re-Do show you (and Chloe) the right way to make a romper look nighttime appropriate.
What She Did Wrong:
- This basically is the black version of an inmate suit, we’re sure that must not have been the look you were going for, eh Chloe?
- Those gloves make us think Chloes about to break out into a jazz hands and Broadway number; maybe she’s just a Glee fanatic?
- Not only do those too long pants make Chloe look like she’s on stilts, but they cover the best party of any outfit: the shoes
What She Should Have Done:
Lets face it Chloe, you’re not J.Lo in a music video and therefore really none of us are going to look good in a full pants jumpsuit. We suggest you try a solid colored romper with dressed up accessories if you want to do the onesie look.
A silk romper won’t look like a costume the way a jumpsuit does. This romper from Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent ($229) cinches at the waist and has a flattering deep V neck. Instead of dated long black gloves, cover your wrist with this adorable bow cuff by Kate Spade ($129).
Tie together the shoes with an oversized leather envelope clutch by Abas Rose ($162.25) that is sleek, but has plenty of room for all your evening essentials.
