Aren’t cramps the worst? Sometimes it can feel like someone is stabbing at your stomach and on top of the pain you become bloated. It’s just overall a horrible experience. If you don’t want to take medicine to soothe your monthly cramps, then try these four natural remedies.
1. Drink warm or hot water. By drinking warm or hot water, it will increase blood flow and help ease your cramped stomach muscles.
2. Heat. This one is a given, but it truly helps. Buy a heating pad or make one yourself by sewing together two pieces of fabric and filling it with rice. You can also use a hot water bottle. Apply the heat to your abdomen or lower back to relieve the pain.
3. Exercise. The last thing you probably want to do when you have cramps is to exercise, but it actually helps. When you exercise, endorphins are released and they act as a natural painkiller. Plus, it will also put you in a better mood! Take a brisk walk outside or on a treadmill.
4. Stretch/yoga. Yoga will really help relieve painful cramps, especially if you focus on poses that target the pelvis and lumbar region.
