Return policies. No one actually wants to deal with them. But, at some point, we will all have to face that little white slip of paper, or that very long list of rules. Recently, we’ve seen the return procedures go from difficult to ridiculous, with loopholes and deceptive wording. So, we’ve decided to clarify and let you know who will tolerate returns and who makes it hard on us. Basically, these are our most visited stores' return policies. So before you invest in $200 worth of nonrefundable pumps, read up, and save yourself the headache.
7 For All Mankind
Unwashed, unworn, unused or defective merchandise may be returned within 30 days after purchase for an exchange or refund. Merchandise received after 30 days will only be accepted at the discretion of the store for an online store credit.
Nearly all new, unopened items sold by Amazon.com are returnable within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, shipping costs included if the return is a result of Amazon’s error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
Ann Taylor LOFT
Unwashed, unworn merchandise is accepted for return by mail. Unwashed, unworn merchandise can also be returned or exchanged at any Ann Taylor LOFT location (with the exception of select merchandise explicitly noted at anntaylorLOFT.com/returns.) Returns accompanied by an original receipt made more than 90 days after the purchase will be credited for the price paid either in the form of a merchandise credit or as a merchandise exchange.
Merchandise may be returned within 2 weeks or 21 days of purchase with receipt, tickets attached, and garment must be unworn. Lingerie, swimwear, jewelry, and clearance purchases are final and may not be returned or exchanged.
Refunds are possible within 30 days of the purchase date.

Barnes & Noble
Due to the wide variety of items issued by B&N, the packing slip provides specific return instructions and addresses.
Most Items: Returns are accepted within 14 days of the date that you received your order. Books, DVDs and CDs (in their original, unopened, shrink-wrapped condition), and Toys & Games can be mailed with the original packing slip.
Items That Cannot Be Returned: B&N does not accept returns for magazines, downloadable PDFs for SparkNotes and Quamut products, gift cards, and shrink-wrapped items that have been opened. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
In order to return or exchange, refund or credit, the Merchandise Return form (found on the back of invoice) must be returned as well. Shipping and Handling charges are not refundable.
A pre-postage-paid label is included inside your package and should be used for all returned items. Exchanges: If you are not completely satisfied with your order, BB will exchange it – and pay the return shipping and ship your new items with no additional shipping & handling charges (within the United States).

You may exchange or return most merchandise for a full refund, less shipping charges, based on the original form of payment, within 180 days of purchase.
Free exchanges after you fill out return form (printable online). Merchandise returns by mail are $6.00. Include return label and Nordstrom will deduct this flat fee for return postage. If you decide not to use the pre-paid label, the $6.00 fee will not be charged. In store returns are free. Simply bring the packing slip and credit card used when you placed the order to any one of our stores for full refund.
New York & Company
All online orders must be returned with slip indicating reason as well as invoice. Returning in store: bring the package invoice, the items(s) to return or exchange, a valid photo ID and the credit card used for the original purchase to any New York & Company store. The package invoice will serve as your receipt. Without the invoice, one will be credited the lowest selling price of the item.
Return merchandise within 45 days of original purchase date. All swimwear returns must have the original price tags and hygienic liner intact to be eligible for a return. Please note: Certain items are not eligible for store returns and therefore must be returned using our easy mail return process. These items are indicated as 'Return by Mail Only' on the product page and have a return type of 'Mail Only' in your shopping bag
Returns are always free. To return purchases from Piperlime, make sure items are in their original condition, and send them back within 45 days of your purchase. There are no returns or exchanges on final sale merchandise. Piperlime purchases may not be returned to any stores. If you used a promotion code to make your purchase, exchange will be for an item in the same style in a different size or color. If your choose to exchange your purchase for something else, credit will be applied towards the new item at their current price.

Returns of watches, jewelry and sale merchandise will not be accepted after 30 days. Requests for adjustments will be honored if the merchandise was purchased at full price and if it is marked down within 7 days of purchase. No exchanges nor replacements on monogrammed or personalized items. In-store returns require presentation of merchandise to an associate at your area Saks Fifth Avenue with the original receipt or gift receipt.
Products are returnable within 60 days of the purchase date. To ensure a timely refund to your account, return item immediately. Return shipping and handling fees are free. No refunds on original shipping costs.
