I’ve long believed that I was not a body scrub person. I basically never take baths and I’d always assumed that washing with a mesh shower pouf provided more than enough exfoliation.
That all changed when I got of whiff of the Rituals scent, The Ritual of Dao. Inspired by the ancient Chinese philosophy, this product line is all about balance, tranquility and inner peace. The scent features white lotus and yi yi ren and it is honestly so relaxing and calming. When I received a sample of the Ritual of Dao body scrub, I couldn’t resist. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of body scrubs, I decided to try it because the fragrance was just too good to pass up.
I am now a convert. I take back every bad thing I ever said about body scrubs. Okay, maybe not every body scrub, but this one is incredible. My skin was not only radiant after using it, but it made my skin so unbelievably soft… for days!
I don’t have much to compare this body scrub to since I can’t even remember the last time I used one, but I’ll say it’s definitely grainy. I used it in the shower and while it didn’t hurt, it’s definitely more textured than, say, salt. I applied it all over my body then rinsed and when I got out of the shower and was applying lotion, I couldn’t believe how great my skin looked and felt. I now see the light!
No matter where you stand on body scrubs, you need to add this one to your self-care routine. Personally, I think it’s a bit to rough to use every single day, but I’ve been using it once a week and I am beyond pleased with how it exfoliates my skin and calms my mood. It’s the perfect Saturday or Sunday ritual.
