Here's the latest Project Runway report from SheFinds reader Casey. Missed last week's episode while you were waiting for your plane or stuck in turnpike traffic? Here's what happened…
She's got legs, yes…but that's no reason for Heidi to forget her pants for the runway elimination this week.
(Editor's note: Wasn't that the Catherine Malandrino dress
Blake Lively wore so well on Gossip Girl
? Love ya, Heidi, but I think this super-short look might be better left to the younger set.)
The theme this week as it is every week and every season: listen to Tim! He is always right and should be obeyed at all times.
We hate the team eliminations so early on, and we were very relieved that they eliminated only one designer. That said, we wish it was Christian because we find his hubris and histrionics a bit tiresome, not to mention his 80s creation was horrendous. We literally laughed out loud when Michael Kors said, "Big button earrings and you're on Facts of Life." We love Michael Kors.
And oh my GOD, just in time for Thanksgiving we have an Indian Princess! The Pocahontas dress was a cross between my grandmother's afghan and the Blob.
While Elisa and Sweet P's creation turned out well, we would have issues wearing a garment that's been spit upon (we don't care if her spit has the "energy and essence" of Buddha himself). Tim put it well when he said her methods were cuckoo, though we would say she is cuckoo. Also, there is no way she can make it through this competition without knowing how to use a sewing machine.
We found Ricky and Jack's fuschia dress with the woven belt totally adorable (and P.S., that Jack is a cutie pie). This marks two weeks in a row where Jack's work was among our favorites, but he was judged in the middle of the pack. We also were drawn to Victorya and Kevin's trapeze dress with the vest–very wearable and stylish. SJP made a great selection…must run, headed to Steve & Barry's!
What did you think of the designers' most recent creations? Which one of the top three do you think SJP should have chosen?
