This has been a BIG week for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle–not only have the couple announced their engagement (in the sweetest, chicest way possible), but they’re already well on their way to wedding planning, with the date and location of the wedding already picked and made official just this morning!
Yes, if you were feeling like a slacker about planning your own wedding (or, um, lunch), you should, because Harry and Meghan have already settled on the two most important aspects of any wedding: the date and the venue. According to a statement from the palace via the Kensington Royal twitter account, the pair will be getting married in May 2018. 6 months to go!!
“The marriage of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in May 2018,” the statement read.

The wedding location will spectacular, yet tasteful: the couple announced that it will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. According to royal experts, this is a “slightly smaller venue” than Westminster Abbey, where Kate Middleton and Prince William wed back in the good ole days of April 2011. #TBT
Prince Harry was baptized at the Chapel in December 1984. Awww!
The Queen gave the happy couple permission to use the Chapel, according to the statement, which has been used for similar events for 500 years now. In recent history, Harry’s uncle, Prince Edward, married Sophie Rhys-Jones there in 1999.
And according to the statement, the Royal Family will pay for the wedding. We sure hope so!
And now, a quick re-cap of what we already know about the Royal Wedding 2.0:
