As if we didn’t already love designer-turned-philanthropist Katharine Hamnett enough, her new collection of eco-friendly swimwear benefits the recent oil spill in the Gulf Coast. Her “Save The Sea” collection of towels, bikinis, cropped tees and tanks are made of sustainable fabrics,  organic cotton and recyclable polyester.  Time to start saving the world while working on your tan:

We like the Marilyn Monroe-inspired polka dot bikini ($132) with its ruched halter top. Cover it up with a “Save the Sea” tunic ($75) on breezy beach days.

Take a look at our favorite “green” products like the best eco-friendly shoes and handbags and the best eco-friendly clothing.
