Science Says You Should Make Your Bed Every Morning To Be A More Productive Person

The only thing worse than getting out of bed in the morning is having to make it. However, you might want to start doing this menial task! According to a recent survey by, 59% of people don’t make their beds and 27% of people do. Among the people who do, 72% of bedmakers are happy, while 62% of non-bedmakers are unhappy. Bedmakers are also likely to like their jobs, be well rested, exercise regularly and run a home. It only takes 21 days to make a habit and your mom would be proud! Here are 5 other reasons why you should make your bed:

1. It’s a stress release.

Cleaning up a messy area can relieve stress. In fact, a study at UCLA found that just looking at clutter elevated women’s stress hormones. So get to makin’ that bed!

2. It can help with allergies

When the covers are pulled up during the day, less dust, allergens and animal hair (if you have a pet) can get between your sheets.

3. It prevents embarrassment when you have unplanned company.

You don’t want people thinking you’re a hot mess…

4. It makes going to bed so much better at night.

Who doesn’t love getting into a freshly made bed!? Its like walking into a hotel room after a long day of traveling…blissful.

5. One habit can lead to other good habits.

Hence, making your bed makes you more productive!
