Marc Jacobs knows that the way to a woman’s heart is through her makeup bag. The veteran designer, who already has several bestselling perfumes under his belt, announced that he was giving the world a complete cosmetics collection earlier this year, and has since made good on that promise by leaking photos of the line, teasing the launch date and now letting the press share photos in advance of it’s August 9th debut. (Just 55 days and counting!). According to an in-depth article released on WWD today, Jacobs’ collection is the beauty enthusiast’s dream: expect highly pigmented colors, clever names, dual-action products, as well as proprietary formulas, like Jacobs’ Anti-Aging Remedy Complex, that you won’t be able to get at any other makeup counter.

It’s broken into 4 categories:
Smart Complexion: Foundations, concealer and powder. Includes: Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation ($48), an anti-aging formula available in 16 shades, and “buoyancy gel technology.” And Remedy Concealer Pen ($39), which is available in 7 shades, a universal brightener and a universal corrector — and features Jacobs’ proprietary Anti-Aging Remedy Complex, and a palladium tip that cools and smooths skin on contact.
Blacquer: A precision pen eyeliner, lash lifter and gel crayon. Jacobs told WWD that this line is his personal favorite. “I asked them to do the blackest black. I also love lacquer and the shine of lacquer as a finish.” Includes Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eyeliner ($30), a waterproof, jet black liner “inspired by a lacquer table in Jacobs’ living room.”
Hi-Per Color: Lip products, blush, eye shadow, bronzer and nail lacquer. Includes Shameless blush ($30),”inspired by Jacobs’ tattoo.” As well as Lovemarc gel lipsticks ($30 each) named after 16 of Jacobs’ favorite movies, and Style Eye-Con ($42), “strongly pigmented” eye shadows.
Boy Tested, Girl Approved: Lip balm, brow tamer and concealer. Includes 3 unisex products: Lip Lock Moisture Balm ($24), Brow Tamer Grooming Gel ($24), and Remedy Concealer Pens ($39 each). The pens come in two shades: Bright Idea, a “universal brightening” shade and Stand Corrected, a complexion corrector.
