SheFinds News: Knightley's Dress Finds Home in the Windy City

Keira Knightley may not have won the Best Actress statuette at this year’s Oscars, but the gown she wore to the ceremony proved to be a winner for charity. The burgundy taffeta silk Vera Wang gown netted more than $7,800 in an eBay auction benefiting relief organization Oxfam, which will use money raised from Knightley’s gown to help drought victims in East Africa. The off-the-shoulder stunner will make its new home in Chicago. “This is such an amazing dress, and I am really pleased to be able to donate it to Oxfam,” Knightley said of the mermaid-style gown that topped many Academy Awards best-of lists (and garnered its fair share of criticism, too.) Check out the eBay page to learn more about Oxfam’s efforts in East Africa, and while you’re there, marvel that a Hollywood starlet would actually reveal her dress size in such a public forum (it’s a six!) Can’t afford to shell out money for the real thing (even if it is for a good cause)? Cop your own Knightley lookalike from Faviana.
