ShoeFetishista Seeks Accessory Queen: SheFinds Explores the Fashion Social Networking Scene

I’ll admit it; I don’t really spend a whole lot of time ‘social networking’ online. I have my little Facebook page where I keep in touch with friends from school, but other than that, the thought of spending hours online chatting with random internet fanatics just seems a little geeky to me. However, I recently changed my opinion when I realized that this social networking stuff could actually be used for a great cause: Shopping!!

When I browsed around a little bit, I found a few Facebook-ish sites that are completely dedicated to bringing fashionable minds together to discuss the latest trends, to decide which shoes look best with that dress, and to uncover all of the ‘it’ stores and sales that only the super fashionistas know about. So, since I’m suddenly in such a sociable mood, let me share my latest discoveries:

When I do spend hours online it is usually because I am forever searching for a cool new pair of shoes or trying to find a fun gift for a friend’s birthday. On Stylehive (a site that seemingly everyone knows about but me), other people do all the digging. The hottest products and e-shops are all conveniently tagged to one place.

Let's say I find a really cool top on the 'hive' but I get a brain cramp and suddenly have no idea what to wear it with. Would you believe there is actually a site where I can upload photos of my wardrobe, arrange them into outfits, and have people give me styling tips? Welcome to Fashion Mash.

Of course, expert tips and advice columns about fashion are all over the Web too — so many, in fact, that it could take me a full day to find and read through them. Thank goodness for the great feature on Trendiki where the most interesting fashion posts and articles spotted online are brought into the forum for you to discuss, email to your friends, or save to your own list of cool links.

But sometimes I get sick of listening to the experts and want to decide for myself what is fashionable, which is when Vote In Style comes in handy – a very democratic way of choosing the trends for fall.

For the times when I leave my computer and actually step outside into the real world, it is nice to know where the good shopping is there too, especially the best sample sales. I can count on Top Button to keep me well-dressed without blowing my budget.

Not to be left out, we have joined the social networking scene with our very own SheFinds MySpace page. Stop by and let us know what you think of our site.

Happy Socializing!
