Unfortunately for us, the amount of respect SheFinds received from the PR reps at the Gottex show was slim to none. SheFindsKristin’s RSVP was rudely overlooked and they wouldn't her let in. My name was actually on the list, but they had my affiliation down as “CityFinds.com” even though I had spelled SheFinds for them twice over the phone. I'm afraid that is just the hierarchical nature of Fashion Week.
Luckily, the Tracy Reese show was an absolute pleasure. I was assigned my own seat and let into the venue without having to wait on line. Those enjoyable, relaxing minutes before the show — swag bag on lap — allowed me extra time to survey the celebrity scene. America's Next Top Model and Project Runway were represented by Nigel Barker and Tim Gunn (accompanied by new co-star Veronica Webb), respectively. Both stood for a few minutes to give interviews, but the attention quickly shifted with the arrivals of Star Jones, singer Mya, and André Leon Talley of Vogue.
After a beautiful show, I found myself standing near Tim Gunn and watched as he stopped to talk and take photos with every single person that approached him. So I mustered up some courage, tapped him on the shoulder, and by the way, he is basically the nicest person ever.
