Levi Strauss is cooking the RedWire DLX, jeans that feature a pocket docking station and retractable headphones. The coolest feature, though, is the built-in control panel, which replaces the traditional right-hip coin pocket and allows wearers to surf for songs and adjust volume without having to remove the iPod from its dock. The jeans will retail for $200 when they make their debut in Fall 2006.
If youâ€™re sporty and canâ€™t bear the thought of pounding the pavement without your motivational playlists, check out the iPod-friendly wares from Sugoi and Kenpo. The Wired top from Sugoi ($55) has an MP3 player pocket near the shoulder; the earpiece cable loops through the so you donâ€™t get tangled in wires while you run. The Kenpo MKT-023jacket ($275) has an interior pocket that fits an iPod and connector snugly. A control panel on the right wrist makes song selection and volume control a breeze.
