What: Designer Handbags at Affordable Prices

Why: Let’s compare Devi Kroell’s Classic Long Hobo ($2590) and the Devi Kroell for Target Hobo ($35).

The original really does have that extra luxurious touch thanks to the Italian patent python. Nonetheless, while the Target version is made of synthetic plastic, a far from stellar handbag material, it still has the classic shape and simple python print, which makes up for that fact. Another plus is that the python comes in several colors, just like the real thing, so you can find one to suit your tastes.

The Devi Kroell collection for Target goes on sale this August and also includes:

* A large metallic tote in python-embossed print ($50).

* A spin-off on her original calf-skin shopper with metallic python straps to hit on the reusable bag trend ($40).

* Darling little “Pochette” wristlets, shown at right ($20).

* Hard clutches similar to the original Carlyle Clutch…also in python ($30).

So what do you think? Would you buy Devi Kroell for Target or would you rather wait it out until you can afford the real thing?
