Shakespeare in Love, Chicago, Chocolat, Gangs of New York, Cider House Rules…all entertaining films that made Miramax a household name in spite of the bull and bearish brothers Harvey and Bob Weinstein. Today, Friday March 3rd, at 6PM PST (that’s 9PM for the east coasters) Miramax is doing a little spring cleaning for a good cause. In an unprecedented (at least for this studio) online auction, the private vaults of movie memorabila will be available for public perusal and purchase. Props and costumes (We wonder if Gwenyth’s ace bandage of boob bondage from Shakespeare in Love is up for grabs…?) will be available for bidding. Proceeds benefit charities through The Entertainment Industry Foundation and The Max Family Foundation as advised by Bob and Harvey. Not too sure what ‘advised’ means, last we heard they weren’t running the show over at Miramax anymore. But that doesn’t take away from the fruitful reign they had, it was a good run and now you go do some good by buying Nicole Kidman’s petticoat as seen in Cold Mountain.
