SheFinds News: Stars Sign Shoes for City Harvest
November 8, 2005
Footwear for fundraising is trendy. Celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Russell Simmons, Ivana Trump, Carson Kressley, Star Jones, Rosario Dawson have emptied their voluminous shoe wardrobes donating signed shoes to benefit one of New York City’s biggest charities, City Harvest. The stars join athletes such as Serena Williams, and Olympian Amanda Beard along with designers such as Carmen Marc Valvo, Jimmy Choo, Jill Stuart, Diesel, Michele K, who are all donating signed, designer shoes for The Bubbly Celebrity Shoe Auction.
On Wednesday, November 16th the bidding begins at Salon. (505 West Street @ Jane Street) Like any good fete there’ll be cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served from 7:30-8:30PM, the auction runs until 10:30PM.
Tickets (not tax-deductible) are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Remember Queer Eye’s Carson sashaying down the red carpet in a pair of slippers? They’re up for bid, you could own a piece of fashion history! Find more info on the Celebrity Shoe Auction and preview the shoes on thebubbly.com.
Can’t get to NYC? You can still help City Harvest feed the hungry through a donation of food or funds at cityharvest.org.
