I don’t know about you, but I don’t typically wear my political or religious convictions on my rear end. But Cheap Monday jeans, a denim brand that is all the rage in its native Sweden might be implying just that. The jeans feature the logo seen here on the label of a smiley skull with an inverted cross on his forehead. The jean makers say the image is meaningless, but the logo designer, Bjorn Atldax had something else to say. “I’m not a Satanist myself, but I have a great dislike for organized religion.” Atldax insisted that he created the image to encourage young people to question organized religion. The controversial logo has been getting the company a lot of press, but apparently has in no way hindered sales in Sweden where the pants remain a hot item. There are plans to introduce the label to the US but I have a feeling that the denim might not go over as well here as in secular Sweden. Read more about the anti-jesus jean at Suntimes.com.
