Ladies, I have experienced makeup nirvana. In one day, I attended the The Powder Group’s fabulous Makeup Show at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan and paid a visit to the famed SheFinds product closet. It was almost more than my product-addicted self could handle, but I managed to prevail, clutching samples in my greedy little hands all the way home.

My very favorite product at the Makeup Show: Art Hardings Instant Facelift from Cinema Secrets. This is not a new miracle cream, nor is it drive-thru cosmetic surgery. It’s a nifty little gadget fastened around your head to literally LIFT your skin up, up and away. Think of a really, really tight ponytail. The man behind the table solemnly assured me that there are many people in L.A. who won’t leave their houses to check their mail without harnessing up.

image How cute are these little Stila Rouge Pots? Filled with a light-as-air cheek color, you’ll be glowing rosy with no tools needed except a finger.

After all the paint your skin may need some serious care. Get in shape with Exuviance skincare products from the NeoStrata company. I tried their Purifying Cleansing Gel, the Evening Restorative Complex, and the Multi-Function Concealer SPF 15 and loved all three. Reasonably priced for top quality complexion care, find it at

image Let your makeup do double-duty with Jane Iredale’s Skincare Makeup. The entire line is non-comedogenic and oil free. Mineral makeup with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, provides broad-spectrum sun protection. I found the loose powder mineral base to be quite impressive; it’s a foundation powder, concealer, and sunscreen in one product.

image A story about the makeup show wouldn’t be complete without a mention of our friends at M.A.Cicon and powerhouse Erno Laszlo. M.A.C’s pick for the summer: Sundressing, a light and shimmery bronzing body mousse.

Laszlo’s new slogan, “Forget the Surgeon” goes along with their latest line of Surgiceuticals. The TranspHuse is straight out of The Stepford Wives Lab – for $138 per ounce you get Derma Fillers that “penetrate the cutaneous layer to immediately fill in and smooth out wrinkles,” and facial relaxants to “modulate your facial expression” and reduce the formation of wrinkles.

We’re all for natural beauty, but girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
