Shopbop Uses The Magic Of Movies To Help You Buy The Right Jeans

Finding the right pair of jeans online can be like trying to find two snowflakes that look exactly alike—that is, seemingly impossible. It's tough to tell, based on a waist-down picture of a skinny model, what jeans will look good on your body. But Shopbop has even the most dubious denim hunters covered with their Denim Fit Guide video series.

In the series, Shopbop style director Morgan takes us through each brand Shopbop sells — right now there are videos for Seven For All Mankind, True Religion, and J Brand, with more on the way. We get to see the jeans in motion, from all the angles, and Morgan points out pivotal features of each pair so we can make the most informed decisions.

For instance, after watching the Seven for All Mankind Fit Guide, I knew that Seven's classic boot cut short jeans ($185) were not only the perfect pair for my curvy-but-short figure, but were also the line's best sellers.

Start off with the individual lines' videos if you've got an idea of what you want, or get a refresher in denimology with The Right Fit video. In it, Morgan takes us through the three most important fit factors—rise, pocket placement and inseam—and gives us a peek at which pairs from Shopbop's denim store work for each body type.
