Bird Poop, Snail Slime And Now Snot? Behold The Beauty Industry's Next Big Trend
June 1, 2015
It’s no surprise that the beauty industry definitely pushes the limits when it comes to the ingredients they use in their products. Bird poo, snail slime, and fish scales are regularly used to create the makeup you love (including the lipstick you swiped on today!). One of the most startling trends emerging right now, however, has to be–wait for it–snot. Yes, like snot from your nose. Well, sort of. So mature, right?
We’re not the only ones puzzled (and secretly delighted) by the emergence of snot beauty products. Poppy Delevingne Instagram’d a shot of her Unicorn Snot and we couldn’t help but be more than a little intrigued. Is snot the new snail slime? Turns out unicorn snot is a glittery body gel that comes in an assortment of colors for less than $10 a jar.
But the snot trend doesn’t stop there. You can also now buy Gorilla Snot, which is an ultra-strong pomade for your hair. Necessary? Probably not, but rumor has it this stuff works wonders on flyaways around the hairline.
We’re still a tiny but grossed out that snot is becoming a thing in beauty, but we’d totally try these two products so it’s only a matter of time before more snot goodies hit the market. Would you ever use a snot beauty product? Sound off in the comments below!
