Heidi Klum as Hindu Goddess Kali (complete with dangling severed head)

You know the scene in Mean Girls where Lindsay Lohan shows up to the Halloween party clad in a full-fledged corpse bride costume while her Mean Girl brethren wear little-to-no clothing in their “Playboy Bunny” and “Sexy Mouse” ensembles? Story of Heidi Klum‘s life. I don’t know if you’ve ever followed the German supermodel on Halloween, but every year she really “gets into character,” to put it lightly. Edit: I asked my best friend who lives in Germany to clarify this issue for me, and low and behold, I was right. Apparently Germans tend to strictly interpret the “scare factor” element of Halloween, often wearing costumes that feature fake blood, severed limbs, and ghoulish makeup. Good to know.

While you’re at it, be sure to check out our roundups of the Top WTF Halloween Costumes of 2011 or our favorite Celebrity Halloween Costumes.
