From the sky-color pastels to bold cobalt to deep, dark indigo, blue is the hue to do this season. The shade showed up on the spring 2013 catwalks of leading designers, from Alice+Olivia to Rebecca Taylor, and now it’s bursting onto the style scene with brightly patterned pieces and trendy monochrome ensembles for sale in our favorite stores. To easily blue-tify your spring wardrobe , add pieces that can be styled with the neutrals already in your closet. A denim button-down or sea-color blazer looks fantastic with black skinnies and wedged sandals for casual Fridays at the office. Don a light blue frock with a bit of sweet lace detailing with nude-color accessories for a romantic daytime look on the weekend. For the daring fashionista, take blue to another level and rock it from head to toe at least one evening this spring. A navy hip-hugging dress paired with chunky navy heels and a matching clutch is a subtle way to get the look. If you’re feeling especially brave, though, do monochrome by wearing a bright blue blouse tucked into trousers of the same shade with standout complementing heels on the bottom.
