Put your wool coat in the back of your closet and free yourself from hats, gloves, and scarves – spring is here! And with spring comes the need for a stylish trench coat. We've already showed you some Chic Rain Trenches for Nasty Weather, but this season is all about bright colors and jungle prints too. And the silhouettes have really taken a turn for fashion and away from function. As trenches were originally made to keep you dry in the rain – now they're here to make us look fabulous no matter rain or shine.

The Via Spiga Zebra Print Trench Coat ($168) is water resistant – perfect for a rainy day. It's also machine washable for that grime and dirt we ladies pick up in our busy lives. Since the print of this coat is partially white, the washing-machine friendly fabric really makes buying this trench an easy decision – and its easy on the pocket-book. (Although its pattern is not for the faint of heart.)

For those of us who need a slightly more subtle option but still want to have some fun, try out one of these candy colored trenches instead:

Gallery Hooded Pleated Coat ($128) is a little less trench, and a little more adorable pleated dress you can wear as a trench. This citrus colored dream coat is water-resistant, fully-lined, and reasonably-priced.

TwillTwentyTwo Grace Double Breasted Twill Jacket ($242) has an adorable take on a peter-pan collar with a bit of shirring and notches like the classic trench. Other intricate details that add to the flair include starch-white oversized buttons, white top-stitching, double breasted front closure, shirring on the pockets, and balloon sleeves and hem.

Coffee Shop Single Breasted Bubble Hem Trench Coat ($78) has an iridescent shine that makes it oh-so-playful for spring. Subtle details make this coat a must-buy  – and it’s the most affordable of the lot.
