Everyone gets blisters when they get new shoes, especially when you slide your feet into a pair of fall booties or slip-on sneakers after wearing sandals for three months, but I don’t. After spending almost 15 years of my life inside a ballet studio, I can assure you that I learned many things, but there’s one thing I learned that’s still valuable and that’s how to avoid getting blisters. Now, I take serious precautions before I even attempt to slip my feet into any new pair of shoes.
If you’ve ever seen a ballerina’s shoes (or her nasty feet), you’re probably well aware of how often dancers get blisters, but I just couldn’t stand the pain. After years of popping ’em and hiding my feet inside an ugly pair of running sneakers for school, I just couldn’t take it anymore. (After all, I love fashion and wearing sneakers every day just isn’t acceptable.) So I came up with my very own hacks for how to stop blisters before they start and now I’m sharing them with you in the slideshow. Check it out and follow my advice. If you do, your feet will be blister-free all summer long. You can thank me later.
