Normally, you have to be crafty to get a peek at the Costume Institute Gala (the Oscars of fashion) as they happen – either you crash the body-guard-filled event, you stalk twitter for photo updates, or rely on blogs for sneak peeks of the event the day after. That’s why we are ecstatic to hear that this year, the event is going to be livestreamed on Vogue, Amazon and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mark your calendars and set your iPhone alerts: it all commences on May 7 at 6:30pm EST.
Are you freaking out as much as we are? This is huge: you don’t need a gown, a date, an invite, or a job at Vogue to get in and watch the biggest celebrities make their way to the “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversation” exhibition right from home, or your desk.
Speaking of dates: we hear that Joseph Altuzarra is bringing Mulberry’s most recent handbag muse and singer Lana Del Rey and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler will be accompanied by the gorgeous Aussie actress Isabel Lucas. Will Blake Lively again be seen on the arm of Karl Lagerfeld? We can only speculate.
Let us know which dates duos you would love to see most at the Met Gala in the comments below.
