Takashi Murakami's Gold, Princess-Themed Shu Uemura Line Is Made For Gifting

Obsessed with all things makeup and anime? Takashi Murakami‘s new collaboration with Shu Uemura will top your holiday wish list. Launching in November, the 6 Heart Princesses line offers gel pencil eyeliners, makeup brushes, lip gloss, cleansing oil, faux lashes and eyeshadows — all enclosed in gold casing with the artist’s colorful anime illustrations.

The 19 piece limited-edition collection pays homage to Murakami’s new animation project, “The 6 Heart Princesses (6HP).” First shown at his solo exhibit at Chateau de Versailles in 2010, 6HP chronicles the evolution of the majokkos, or magical girls, into super women.

Rooted in otaku culture, the animation series and the makeup collection are meant to symbolize the inner light and darkness every woman holds inside. And the pink and black colors of the packaging represent that duality. Deep stuff!

The product line has its own magical powers with its bold colors and whimsical packaging. Pick it up for $24-77 at shuuemura-usa.com.
