Is there anything more crippling that period cramps? The intense pain causes by menstrual cramps can be debilitating. To make things worse, cramps tend to hit at the most inconvenient times. Some tips for easing cramps, like applying a heating pad, work great but aren’t always feasible. As much as I’d love to lay down with a heating pad in the office conference room, it’s just not possible. Thankfully, there’s subtle a quick reflexology trick you can use to ease the pain of cramps. You can do this trick any time, without anyone even noticing.

To quickly get rid of period cramps, find the Union Valley Point on your hand. This acupressure point is located in the fleshy joint between the thumb and index finger on both hands (approximately where the black circle is located in the image below). Simply press down and rub this area in little circles for a few seconds.

According to Modern Reflexology, stimulating this pressure point by applying pressure calms the uterine muscles (which is where you get period cramps). Stimulating this point also aid in treating headaches and abdominal pain.
