Remember when we told you about Scream Queens, the most anticipated new TV show this fall? Well, the premiere happened and it did not disappoint. The show is basically a mashup of Heathers, Mean Girls, and Pretty Little Liars, which means it is phenom. That being said, if you are someone who squirms at the sight of blood, then you might want to sit this one out.
Now, let’s dive into the 5 best moments from the first episode (major spoilers ahead!!!).
1) Chanel ordering coffee
Chanel (Emma Roberts) is the HBIC of Kappa Kappa Tau. To understand Chanel is to watch her order a cup of coffee (PSL extra hot, obvs) from a poor, unfortunate barista. She then “thanks” him by calling him a “coffee donkey.”
2) Jennifer candle vlogging
Okay, so this might not be super important to the show’s plot, but I could NOT keep it together when it was revealed that one of the new Kappa pledges is a “candle vlogger.” Oh, you don’t know what that is? Just someone who does candle reviews on Youtube. Casual.
3) Chanel No.3 explaining “mom”
You guys, we told you “mom” is happening!!!! Chanel No. 3 (Billie Lourd), who is one of Chanel’s minions and therefore does not go by her birth name, explains why the pledge Hester (Lea Michele) wants to call Chanel “mom.”
4) Hester covering up Chanel No. 2 death
Speaking of Hester, she is a complete psychopath. After Chanel No. 2 (Ariana Grande) is murdered by the Red Devil, the rest of the Chanel’s try to decide what to do with her body. Hester comes up with a completely insane and pretty disgusting plan and tells the girls that she is obsessed with death….sounds pretty sketchy.
5) Boone working out
I know you’re probably thinking, “What about Nick Jonas?!” He plays closeted frat boy Boone who, about an hour and forty-five minutes into the episode, has a glorious shirtless workout scene. Bless your heart, Ryan Murphy.
Unfortunately, the joy of seeing Nick J’s bulging biceps doesn’t last very long because the Red Devil, who’s been murdering students left and right, interrupts Boone’s lifting sesh. But…Boone’s not dead yet! We see him very much alive at the end of the episode.
Seriously though, the premiere was two hours which means there’s lots more to see. So you should just watch now if you haven’t already. We promise it’s worth wasting 120 minutes on your couch for (ya, OK, because you needed so much convincing to do that).
