When creating the perfect green smoothie, there’s no need to follow a recipe – just use the 2-2-3 ratio. For every smoothie you make, no matter the ingredients, measure out 2 cups of greens, 2 cups of a liquid base, like almond milk or coconut water, and 3 cups of fruit – which ensures your smoothie will never end up tasting like a salad. While this specific recipe makes 32 ounces of smoothie, it can easily be halved (1 cup greens, 1 cup liquid, 1.5 cups fruit) to create one 16 ounce serving – or save the other half in an airtight container in your fridge for up to two days!
Other green smoothie tips? Make sure to blend the greens and the liquid base first before adding in your fruit to ensure the greens blend smoothly. You can also avoid using ice altogether by using frozen fruit in your blender instead.
