The Facebook 'Dislike' Button Is Finally Here--In The Form Of Animated Emojis
October 9, 2015
Remember when we told you a Dislike button was coming to Facebook? The moment is finally here and it’s way better than expected. Facebook is currently testing a new feature called Reactions, which are animated emojis you can use in addition to the Like button.
The Reactions featured are love, haha, yay, wow, sad, and angry. As of right now, the new feature is only being tested in two markets, Spain and Ireland. If you’re wondering why those two countries were chosen, Facebook’s director of product, Adam Mosseri, says “both have largely national user bases without extensive international friend networks, so they work better as closed test groups,” according to TechCrunch.
Facebook’s product chief, Chris Cox said in a Facebook post, “As you can see, it’s not a “dislike” button, though we hope it addresses the spirit of this request more broadly. We studied which comments and reactions are most commonly and universally expressed across Facebook, then worked to design an experience around them that was elegant and fun.”
What do you think of the new Reactions feature?
