So everyone thinks that a little black dress is ALWAYS classic and will look good no matter what, but that’s not the case for 2014. Color and prints are taking over, so you better start embracing it. According to The Guardian, ASOS and MATCHESFASHION.COM are reporting that people don’t want to wear black anymore. They’re buying things with lots and lots of color instead.

But this is just an online trend. Black clothing can look flat on a a website, so that’s why consumers are more drawn to colorful pieces or something with a print. British designer Mary Katrantzou said, “Print isn’t taboo anymore. Women want to wear an outfit that will say something about their aesthetic.” And social media like Instagram has helped too. Women see how appealing a bold dress can look, so they want to figure out where they can find that too. This is your excuse to quit working and go find a CRAZY colorful dress. Your closet will thank you.
