Last night on “After Paradise” it was revealed that the next Bachelor for season 21 will be…. show veteran Nick Viall!
“I’m very excited,” he told hosts Michelle Collins and Sean Lowe. Fans are hopeful that the fourth time’s the charm for Nick, 35, who failed at love twice on ‘The Bachelorette,’ (with Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe) and then again on “Bachelor In Paradise.”
Nick, who wasn’t a clear front-runner for the role, was chosen because of this sort of underdog role, according to longtime host Chris Harrison. Harrison told People, “He has just become that perennial, second place guy who wants to find love and is as sincere, if not more sincere, than anybody about finding it. It’s about giving him his chance to find love. Who deserves it more than him?”
So, what will Nick be looking for in a mate this season?
“I’ve always been attracted to women who are very confident and know their own self-worth,” he revealed, “someone who makes me a better person and challenges me and isn’t afraid to, you know, give it as much as I like to.”
Ladies–start your engines! The show will air in January on ABC.
