The One Haircut 'Rule' Even Your Stylist Thinks You Should Break
April 29, 2016
Most women feel guilty about not taking care of themselves better–they feel that they should work out more, eat better, get haircuts more often. No, seriously–that last one is legit. Haircut guilt is real! We were all raised to believe that regular trims were the key to a happy, split-end-free life. But it turns out we’ve all been getting them (or, rather, thinking we should be getting them) more often that we actually need to.
That is according to Kardashian stylist Jen Atkin and founder of OAUI haircare line. She just told ELLE magazine the honest truth about that old rule of getting a trim every four to six weeks:
“That’s too soon. I’m all about letting your hair get to a different place.” What!?
“Getting a haircut too often, you get stuck in the same repetitive look.”
Okay, so she’s not saying you should be in **desperate** need of a trim, but that you can totally let haircuts grow out before you get another one. PHEW!
I feel so much better–do you?
