I literally never go food shopping. The crowded aisles and long lines, especially in New York City on the weekends, are such a drag. Like, no, I don’t want to spend three hours in Trader Joe’s, as good as their Cookie Butter might be.
What I find makes a slight difference in terms of the amount of time I spend (waste?) in a grocery store is bringing a list. Seriously, don’t go food shopping without one. Not only is it a time saver but also a great way to make sure you don’t leave without everything you need. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone grocery shopping without a list, been so overwhelmed by the endless aisles of food, and left without crucial items I need, like Cookie Butter. OK, jk, it’s usually milk and eggs that escape my mind, but that Cookie Butter stuff is actually very good.
So if you are the type who goes food shopping without a GP (that’s game plan, FYI), stop that! A list is really the best way to stay focused when navigating the literal Hunger Games that is a grocery store.
